Invitation to Girls Night Out!

participating in a 'Girl's Night Out' event where a
handful of women's businesses are gathering to
promote their gigs, shop, hang out and shop some
more!
This is being held at a home decor store which is called Real Deals (Kathy - the owner - has great home accessories at AMAZING prices...) The invite is below - there are links to all of the businesses that are going to be there. Please come for the food, drinks and fun! Also, please pass this on to other women in your life who would be interested in coming - the more the merrier!

A pledge to go a year without buying anything new

There was a story this morning on NPR about the
Compact - - a growing social movement in which
members vow to buy nothing new for a year.

difficult for a lot of people, myself included.
I think it would be a great challenge though. We have been making great strides in trimming the fat from our daily lives, i.e. clipping more coupons, cooking many more dinners at home, attending free cultural events, going to the library more... I feel like we could be doing much more though to get back to the 'basics'.
